Brian Fife
President
Brian is the Chief Deputy with the Canadian County Assessor’s office. He has worked there for 7 years and as a licensed Realtor is mainly responsible for the residential valuation process which includes fielding and researching protests. He has been a member of IAAO for 3 years. Brian is currently working toward receiving the RES designation in the near future.
Brian has been happily married for 26 years and has 3 children, 2 of which have attended OSU. Both he and his wife graduated from OSU and enjoy spending their free time attending OSU football games or going to Scottish Highland Festivals. He says if you are ever up in Stillwater on game day feel free to come by their tailgate!

Course Description: Course 400 provides fundamental management concepts for management and supervisory personnel in the assessor's office.
The course begins by emphasizing the need for management and the various roles placed on the assessor and all supervisory personnel.
The course then introduces the four major management functions (planning, organizing, directing, and controlling).

IAAO Course 402 -- Tax Policy
Date: January 31-February 4, 2022

Course Description: This course offers strategies for assisting in the effective formulation and implementation of tax policies and provides the context in which property tax policy is established. During this course, students will use analytical tools to guide decision-making and to assist in creating workable solutions for their jurisdictions.
This course is designed for assessment administrators and students of taxation, as well as professional policy advisors who guide and make decisions in the area of tax policy.

Annual Conference Subsidy

The Annual Conference Subsidy was established in 2018 to help Oklahoma IAAO members wanting to attend the Annual Conference for the first time. Per Article X of the chapter bylaws, financial assistance for up to two (2) chapter members may be provided by the chapter. The award amount will be determined by a vote of the chapter.
The recipient(s) will be notified no less than ninety (90) days prior to the Annual Conference. Applications must be received by the deadline announced annually by the chapter president. IAAO members interested in applying for the Annual Conference Subsidy must meet the following requirements:
- An applicant must be a current member of IAAO and have been a member for at least one (1) year
- An applicant must be a current member of Oklahoma Chapter IAAO and have been a member for at least one (1) year
- Applicant must be a 1st time attendee at the Annual Conference
- Application must be received on or before announced deadline of April 1, 2019
- Applicants who decline the subsidy after approval must still meet the guidelines and reapply for future consideration
The Executive Committee will award the subsidy/subsidies, based on the applications, funds available and any other factors the committee deems necessary.

George Keyes Award
In honor and remembrance of our Chapter's first President, we are proud to announce the "George Keyes Award." The intent is to show the Chapter's appreciation by acknowledging an Oklahoma International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) chapter member for their professional integrity within the assessment field.
Nominations
Nominations must arrive by September 20, 2019 to be accepted. The winner will be announced during the annual County Assessors' Association Fall Conference. Complete a Nomination Form.
Eligibility
Nominee must be an active and in good standing member with IAAO Oklahoma Chapter. Submitted nomination must be from an active and in good standing IAAO Oklahoma Chapter member. Members of the Nomination Committee are not permitted to be nominated or to nominate a possible recipient for the award.
Nomination Guidelines
This award is presented to the IAAO Oklahoma Chapter member who has made a significant contribution to the association through active participation in its activities. Items of interest may include but are not limited to; participation in IAAO conferences, courses, workshops and seminars as well as other areas of interest within the local chapter.
Nomination Criteria
We ask you to summarize the reasons you believe this nominee is deserving of the "George Keyes" award. Describe how he/she has contributed to the realization of the mission of IAAO and re-enforcement of those practices through the IAAO Oklahoma Chapter. Provide information that demonstrates excellence in the performance of tasks associated with the individual's or team's work or project. In addition, show how this work has had a positive impact upon either the work environment or the quality of service to others. In general, provide any details of which you feel this person/group/entity is deserving of this award. All descriptions will be honored and reviewed.
