Oklahoma Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) October 23, 2024 Meeting Summary

The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners held its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the Oklahoma County Office Building, 320 Robert S Kerr Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102, Room 204. Key Items for Discussion/Approval:

Financial Approvals and Reports:

  • Approval of purchase card statements and claims.
  • Review of Workers' Compensation payments and employee benefits.
  • Monthly reports from the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau, Sheriff, and Assessor.

Community Recognitions and Proclamations:

  • Approval to hang flyers for the November 8th Warrant Clearing Event.
  • Recognition of the October 2024 Employees of the Month.

Project and Agreement Approvals:

  • Consideration of agreements for services, including a contract for the 11th-floor stair extension project in the Oklahoma County Courthouse.
  • Multiple ARPA-funded projects to support infrastructure, including elevator upgrades and social distancing measures for court operations.
  • Approval of a Retail Pharmacy Agreement with RX Sense.

Property Management and Equipment Disposal:

  • Disposal of obsolete equipment from the Oklahoma County Assessor's inventory.
  • Review of the transfer of a 2.03-acre property to the Oklahoma Industries Authority.

Funding and Budget Transfers:

  • Discussion of temporary cash transfers totaling $8 million to cover payroll and meeting expenses.

Notably, included in the ARPA-funded projects are two appropriations to Fields and Future Foundations, and Peaceful Family Solutions, INC. Fields and Future Foundations is an organization that creates equal opportunity to accessible safe places for youth sports. Peaceful Family Solutions philanthropy is to help children affected by addictions in their families. Both organizations will be allocated an amount of $14,847.41.

“These programs are vital for the success of disadvantaged youth in our county. I am thrilled that we are able to appropriate money to both organizations, and look forward to the positive effect they will have on our community,” said Commissioner Myles Davidson.
