The Board of County Commissioners of Oklahoma today voted Commissioner Myles Davidson as the new Chairman of the Board, effective immediately, for the calendar year 2025.
Commissioner Davidson, who has served Oklahoma County, District 3, since 2022 brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of championing initiatives that benefit Oklahoma County's communities. Davidson has led Oklahoma County’s efforts, along with state and local officeholders, to develop and implement monumental infrastructure projects for transportation, water and other resources. He helped create an award-winning diversionary criminal justice program that places low-level offenders in county-operated community service (Oklahoma County S.H.I.N.E.) and was a key leader in the modernization road building operations for the County.
“I am honored to be selected as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners and am committed to working collaboratively with my fellow commissioners and community members to ensure that Oklahoma County continues to thrive,” said Chairman Davidson. “Together, we will address the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead, always prioritizing the well-being of our residents.”
This unanimous decision reflects the board's confidence in Davidson's leadership, vision and dedication to serving the residents of Oklahoma County. The Board of County Commissioners extends its gratitude to outgoing Chairman Brian Maughan for his leadership during his tenure.
The Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of Oklahoma County, responsible for establishing policies, adopting budgets, and representing the interests of its residents. The board is committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and prosperous community.
