FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 17, 2025
OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma County Grand Jury has reviewed the Oklahoma City Police Department use-of-force case that resulted in the death of Eddie Hill, 41, on June 16, 2025. Jurors heard testimony from two witnesses and reviewed 35 exhibits including body worn camera, photographs from the scene and recorded interviews from the four officers involved. After deliberating, the Grand Jury determined no charges should be filed against the officers that used deadly force.
Oklahoma City police officers were called to a home in the 3500 block of SW 17th for a man threatening suicide. The four officers that responded approached the front door of the home and as they did Hill opened the door armed with a knife. Hill charged at the officer closest to him and attempted to stab the officer. He was ordered to drop the knife but instead continued advancing on the officer armed with the knife which led to him being shot. Hill was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
The four officers involved were placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
