FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 8, 2026
OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma County jury found Rana Siever, 27, guilty of First-Degree Manslaughter for the 2022 shooting death of Brianne Torres at an Oklahoma City apartment complex. The jury recommended a sentence of 35 years in prison.
According to evidence presented at trial, Oklahoma City Police officers responded around 1:18 am on October 7, 2022, to an apartment near NW 82nd and Rockwell after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Officers located Torres suffering from a gunshot wound inside the apartment. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, Sievert admitted she and the victim had been involved in a physical altercation. Sievert said during the confrontation she retrieved the victim’s handgun from a nightstand and shot Torres once.
“This verdict and the recommended sentence reflect the seriousness of the defendant’s actions and the devastating consequences of that night,” said District Attorney Vicki Zemp Behenna. “While no outcome can undo the loss suffered by the victim’s loved ones, we hope this verdict brings them a measure of justice for Bree.”
Formal sentencing is scheduled for June 11, 2026.
DA Behenna would like to thank the jury for their service this week and their careful attention throughout the trial. She also extends her gratitude to the Oklahoma City PoliceDepartment and her prosecutors for their efforts to investigate this tragedy and prosecute the accused.
Bree’s family requested we release the attached picture in her honor.
