Oklahoma County District 3 Commissioner Myles Davidson Comments on Oklahoma County Jail Site

14 Feb, 2024 | Return|

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE --- February 14, 2024

Oklahoma County Commissioner Myles Davidson responds to State Representative Jason Lowe’s press conference today regarding the Oklahoma County jail site:

“While I respect the opinion of State Representative Jason Lowe and understand the importance of considering various factors in moving the Oklahoma County jail site from its current downtown location, I confidently believe relocation is essential.

There is a desperate need for a modern and better-secured facility. Compared to other counties across the country, we are well behind the standard. We must find alternative solutions that address these concerns.

Let us work collaboratively to find a solution that ensures public safety and meets the requirements for a state-of-the-art facility while preserving as much of the taxpayer’s dollar as possible.”
