FOR IMMEDIATE RELASE
July 30, 2025
OKLAHOMA CITY –Oklahoma County District Attorney Vicki Zemp Behenna has formally requested Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) assistance in the ongoing inquiry by the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office into the allegations made after the July 24, 2025, State Board of Education Meeting. The investigation centers on whether the State Superintendent of Public Instruction – or any other individual – improperly exhibited obscene material during executive session of the board meeting.
DA Behenna has asked the OSBI to coordinate with the Sheriff’s Office to support a complete and well-coordinated investigation. The purpose is to determine whether any criminal activity occurred – and, if so, ensure it is addressed through the proper legal process. If no wrongdoing occurred, the investigation will help provide clarity and resolution for all involved.
Public trust in our institutions matters. The DA’s Office takes all allegations involving public officials seriously, and we are committed to following the facts wherever they lead. Public service carries a responsibility to uphold the law and the confidence of the people we serve.
We are committed to a fair process and holding individuals accountable when the facts and the law warrant it.
