OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma County jury has found Brandon Garrett, 44, guilty of Murder in the First Degree in the 2024 fatal stabbing of 37-year-old Dorian Simon at an Oklahoma City apartment complex.
The jury returned its verdict on Wednesday, recommending a sentence of life in prison. Formal sentencing is scheduled for October 13, 2025, at 11 a.m.
On October 12, 2024, officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to the Seminole Ridge Apartments, located at 125 W. I-240 Service Road, in reference to a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds and a knife handle protruding from his back. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Through their investigation, detectives identified Garrett as the suspect, and he was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on October 18, 2024.
District Attorney Vicki Behenna extends her gratitude to the jury for their time and careful consideration throughout this trial. She also thanks the Oklahoma City Police Department for their thorough investigation and the prosecutors who worked diligently to prepare and present this case.
